The time has come to upgrade my trusty disco, I have some mods in mind. would like some advice from the experts as to which (if not all) are a good idea....

30mm wheel spacers, not for any other reason than I want a bit more "presence" on the road.

de-cat sports exhaust, the one which removes the front silencer aswell.

de- egr, complete kit.

alt belt tensioner, as the tensioner is "squealing"

Also, replace all filters, liquids.

Any others I should think of?

Some of the items you have listed are basic servicing/maintenance. So they should always be done in a timely manner, not looked upon as modifications or upgrades!

The others you have listed have no effect except to lighten your wallet.

Its your money - spend it how you like!!!!!!

Clean out sedimentor, clean out inlet manifold, flush rad and intercooler, replace turbo hoses and the squealing will be cured with the penny trick

yeah, I know the tensioner, filters etc, are service stuff, have searched about the spacers, get loads of conflicting answers....

The de-cat and de egr stuff is prob the most useful, the spacers are purely cosmetic.

The only comment I would make is forget the wheel spacers - they will cause you nothing but trouble.

If you want the Disco to look more "impressive" - have it lifted, with bigger tyres and it'll look good. Set you back about a grand though?

The other stuff is just good routine maintenance on a TDi 300 and should all be done - tomorrow :D:D:D:D:D

Paddock spares will provide you with a filter kit (air oil and fuel) for£6.50+vat; a de-cat pipe for £16+vat; a de-EGR kit for £5+vat and free delievery to you if you order is over £50.

Ellon is a nice town, we used to stay near Turriff.

Cheers
Dave

90/110 front down pipe with out cat is a straight replacement only £15 ,you only need to put a blank sheet of metal between egr valve and turbo ,only fit spacers for wheels if fitting appropiate wheels with correct offsets as you need to have steering center through tyre center unless you want to make the steering dangerous ,put engine to no1 tdc fit timing pin or 9mm drill in injection pump pulley and through into pump loosen 3 x 8mm bolts (10mm socket size) put spanner on pump nut turn clockwise until pushing against timing pin ,tighten 3 x bolt havent found many that dont run better after. fit a set of britpart heavy duty springs and gas shockers std hieght less than £200 and make a big improvment to ride, bearmch used to do similar

Cheers James, Filters done today, exhaust bits ordered, new lift pump ordered, got a bunch of oil leaks to fix, (I know Landrover are not known for their ability to keep the oil on the inside of the engine, but her indoors is mumping about the black marks on the drive!!!) Will try the timing tweek, done the rear springs and shocks about 1000 miles ago. Will think about doing the front ones soon. Anything else I should be thinking of?
