300tdi ES ABS ERROR 3-1

Hey guys,

I have a 300tdi ES 96 Reg did the blink test after hanging upside down looking for the ABS light relay for 10 mins, had 3 errors 2-12, 2-14 and 3-1 after clearing them going for a little ride around the block coming back im left with

3-1 The ECU connection or wiring to right hand front outlet, hydraulic modulator solenoid valve.

Now is the Hydraulix Modulator solenoid valve just a tech name for ABS modulator?

I have been searching online this afternoon to see if anyone could shed some light in were to start finding the fault and well i was going to start on the pump and clean the contacts on the connector but if there is anyone else out there with any ideas of where to start im happy to try that tomorrow

well after cleaning the ABS connector 3-1 error is cleared now i get 4-12?

you better clean the ECU plug...cos all those inputs are getting there...if it still missbehaves IMO get other new or known good ECU
