My Defender 300tdi has a small amount of rot on the bottom inside of the doors other than this they are in good order. I was wondering what my options are, I plan to keep the vehicle for a long time so I'd like to have a solution that will resist the UK weather for as long as possible. I was wondering as they are the original doors is it worth getting them repaired and then galvanise or should I just look to replace with new galvanised doors. If having them repaired and galvanise is an option does anyone know who would provide this service. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. YRM do repair sections that have a good reputation if you want to repair existing doors.I have picked up a couple of doors cheaply on eBay, so that I can get them where I want, then swap them on to the bus as I use the vehicle for work. The only issue with this is getting them sprayed up, which could be expensive.

I went the rebulding doors with new bottoms and galv steel skins in the end. Half way through at the moment. Tbh I wouldn't do it again...

On the positive side they don't actually need masses of welding so I might have 1 or 2 of the YRM repair pieces coming up for sale soon!
