Hi all ,we've just replaced all the calipers, discs, brake pipes on the wifes 110(thats right "the wifes").The problem we have, having bled the system four times is that the pedal is good when the engine isn't running, however when you start it up and leave it running for five minutes the pedal travels about halfway down,it,s the same when you drive down the road about a mile after the pedal was last used. There are no leaks and no air bubble's in the system.Any idea's anyone?.Thank's Paul.[ZE]

does the fluid in res splash up when pedals pumped ,it would sound like you still have air in the system, how did you bleed it

Thank's for the reply jamesmartin,Im afraid the fluid doesn't splash out of the master cylinder when the pedal is pumped. We bled it manually and we have put around 2 litre's of fluid through it.Thank's Paul.

Have you bedded the brakes in
Also with engine running and not moving press the brake pedal...... You say it sinks down about halfway, can you pump the pedal to improve it's travel/firmness?
Were the parts you fitted the correct ones? Hold pressure on the pedal whilst someone checks the pipe joins at every connection
Defenders aren't normally bad to bleed, I'd consider using pipe clamps on the rubber hoses to isolate and try and locate the issue, still wonder if there's air trapped.
