been reading a few threads and now looking to de cat my auto,ive been searching ebay and a few 4x4 parts sites but now confused at which to buy for the best results prices range from £19.99 at terrain vehicles and foundry4x4 up to £55 at paddocks :confused: so im asking all you that have this mod which is best to buy?

You can either use the Disco down pipe or the Defender down pipe. The Disco one is more expensive and has a flexible bit in it, the Defender one is cheaper with no flexi bit. Plenty of people have used the Defender one on the Disco with no problems

ive just fitted a gaybay £19.99 de-cat pipe, and apart from my own stupidity its a simple job to do and after 40 odd miles today not noticed a problem with it. now i know how to fit 1 i wouldnt bother paying the extra to get the flexi pipe version, spend a little extra time and save the money!!

As far as I can see, there are 3 ways of doing this:

1. Replace existing catted downpipe with a Disco flexy-section one - £60;

2. Replace with Defender non flexy one - £25

3. Cut just before and just after the catt and remove - replace with this joining section. Cheap solution that retains the existing pipework so no undoing of old fixings and retains the flexy section.
Exhaust Pipe Connector , Sleeve , Joiner , Connectors on eBay, also Exhaust Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 11-Apr-09 10:05:19 BST)

I did mine with a Defender solid downpipe, but I do feel that I'm missing out not having the NVH-reducing flexy section, so when I do the wife's car, I'm going to try this pipe-joining approach.

Cheers
Dave
