3.9 v8 temp senders.

Can someone please tell me the part numbers for thease two temp senders.Disco 1 1998 3.9 v8.The two near the thermostat.I can find them on ebay,they are on the list,but when i do a compatability check they come back as won't fit, i am confused.

What your arrows are pointing to are:
AMR1425 temp sensor for dash temp gauge (brass)
ETC8496 temp sensor for EFI ECU (black)

them's em,but theres etc 8496,etc 8496g 8496r,they all look the same.Then when i do a compatability check,it says this item does not fit landrover discovery lj ,lg 1989-1998 suv.and it says that on them all.

I think i will just change the dash temp guage one,it only read 1/2 way and my engine overheated.i was running it with the expantion tank cap off,and when i turned the engine off,all the boiling water shot out like a guiezzer.

I may have been a bit hasty must keep away from forums while working

ETC 8496 is the fuel temp sensor for the early V8. U require AMR1425 for your engine, it's black but has a thin green line around it.

For the other temp sensor which you have red arrowed it's either PRC8783 AUTO EFI to ECU temp sensor or PRC8003 MANUAL EFI to ECU temp sensor.

As im sure u know the three sensors are bunched in same position on the manifold, not the same as the now out of date LR parts diagram showing the earlier manifold.

What happened it's normal, running like that it's classic reason for overheating cos the system must be kept under pressure by the cap as to keep the boiling point higher, that's why the system is presurised and the cap has a built in pressure controll valve ...the cap MUST be in good working order(which means the valve to work as it should and the seal to not leak) and tightened well all the time otherwise overheating can occur without other reason

I bought it with an overheating problem the water pump was gone, so i put a new one on it did about 8 mile got stuck in trafic and it boiled.Av threw money at it,recon heads,composit gaskets,arp studs and nuts.Am still putting it back together, to be honest i dont think there was anything wrong with the old heads,i done it for piece of mind.I will order a new cap along with temp sender and service bits.I only got the logbook a couple of days ago,this morning i got a letter from a logbook loan company.The fcuker i bought it off owes them 360 quid,i aint paying it.Am sure that loophole has been closed,thats out of order selling me a fcuked up landy with a logbook loan on it.I told them on the phone av been ripped off,and if they wanna take it off me they'r gonna need a trailer because it ain't running.They said they will call me back so i don't know whats gonna happen,but i aint paying some fcuker elses debt.
