How's it a stupid question??? Every engine has a max safe rpm. I've got a disco engine (not in a disco) and I need to set the redline on my tach. So where is the redline on ur rev gauges? If this is still a stupid question then I am dumb as fook and really don't get why........... :)

red lining a standard v8 is a bad idea, if it's screaming=change gear

I dont want to redline it that's why I'm asking. I currently don't let it rev higher than 3500 but sometimes want to push a bit harder. Just want to make sure I'm no where near. Is someone gonna give me a clue?? LOL or do I need to start looking through disco front windows like a car theif??? Haha......

TBH there aint no need to rev past 4500rpm with a V8, I just do cos I got a straight through pipe and it sounds like a V8 should:)

I hit the rev limiter in mine the other night, sounded awesome, fooked off the little tw@t in the Clio summat chronic:D

I know!!! Haha. Mines in a defender and is highly geared like a disco. People expect it to be slow, the look on there faces!!!!! :-D

Is the rev limiter in the distro or ecu? Mine used to be efi but is now on holleys with no ecu......

I take mine to 5,000rpm regularly. They should rev to 5,500, but there is not much point taking it past 5,000.
