Finally figured out where all the wires go!
Got the dizy in the right place, checked to see if I was on the right part of the cycle and started her up! got about 25psi oil pressure on 1k revs, and about 50 when giving it a few more revs.

Also got my gauge pod in, had to make a stand for it to make it at the right angle to see from the drivers seat.

^^^ agreed

Once you fire it up you want to be straight up to 2-2500k area for 20 minutes

Was awkward with mine cos it didn't want to run so smooth for the first 30 seconds or so.

Don't think it will have ####ed your cam or anything but its not ideal, high loads on the cam at low rpms so that's why you want to avoid it until cam is surfaced/hardened :)

at least you lot can let the ecu set up the fueling, I am gonna be tryna balance carb and timing while keeping it at the break in revs- thats if it starts lol :D

Yeah now that's impossible, carb guys really do need to know their ****.

I guess "plenty rich" is the key to firing up and getting that cam broke in good.

Have you got a known good set of carbs to run it up on?

Come to think of it, don't even remember how I went about the dizzy timing after that rebuild in August, must have just gone for TDC and a nudge, cos I think I got the timing light out after the cam was broke in...

I set mine to -4deg tdc on the crank indicator then set the no.1 ht point (done a quick turn over test with the gun to make sure it was about right.. seemed ok (couldn't see that well tbh) and BOOM it fired right up.
