Hi there,

so the shakedown cruise happened today. No big issues ao far, only the fuel gauge trying to give me a heart attack when it dropped from 70% to zero in 20 km. Luckily it's only the gauge.

One thing I realized so is the heating of the gearbox tunnel. Is that normal behavior? When I first drove it this winter it obviously wasn't that much of a problem. Since I don't have a comparison, well maybe someobe can comment on it.

The tunnel is not yet isolated and the 5W something oil in it not yet replaced (will be done next week, 20W50 already in my shed).

Greetings and have a nice weekend!

Well, I cannot say I froze during winter, that's true. Today at almost thirty degrees made me miss air conditioning, at least for half an hour or so! Let's see what some isolation can do! Unfortunately I cannot put heat isolation underneath, someone welded the gear tunnel in place...

Never found the AC on a Classic that effective, back in the days when I had one so equipped. Daily driver has very effective AC but it dries my eyes.
My current '87 has a retro-fitted OE sunroof (not a factory fitment until '89 I believe) that does me.
At least the tunnel isn't going anywhere ;)

The tunnel will stay where it is that's sure! Anything short of an angle grinder just won't help, I know because I tried!
