My winch will be turning up today so im thinking its best to put a 2nd battery in for it and my other bits (roof lights e.t.c.) but im unsure wheres best to mount it.

I have got ABS and my snorkel pipe comes out the front of the airbox so that kinda counts out the jack location, I know I can mount in the rear but would rather not run massive amounts of cable so was wondering where else, if anywhere, there is to mount, somewhere I have maybe missed...

You can modify the current tray to get two into it. I personally have not done this but have seen 1 or 2 rather neat installs.

just run a bigger amp battery in the original hole, with a master cut off switch and make sure your engine is running whilst using the winch. thats what i did and it has served me well. then you ain't got the hassle of fitting split charges

Personally Jon id be looking at battery priority and alter your intake system to fit. Perhaps ditch the airbox and fit an inline filter? BMC CDA type? Or snorkel top? (not keen on snorkel top myself but it works)

Cheers

+1. it's already got a second battery tray, use it.

I got a v8, with abs and snorkel, fitted a 2nd battery in the jack housing. Although its a fiat punto one whilst I do the wiring and ****, but its similar dimensions to a yellow cap, which will be purchased at a later date!!
