Guys, New to Discos

Can i put, 255/70/R16's on a standard disco 2 - 2002 without any rubbing or cutting?

They'll be general grabbers

Cheers All

Hi Dan, you can fit these tyres, but as the std fit is 235/70/16 you may find that your gearing is slightly affected which will could reduce your ability to climb long hills a bit. It will also slightly affect your speedo and milometer readings.

Fitting wider tyres will definitely take one or two miles off your mpg as well, so you'll be using more juice, blunting the vehicle performance, spending more than you need on tyres (235's are noticeably cheaper) but they will look 'good'.

The choice, as they say, is yours.......................................

Gearing - I found no difference and i'm a further size up...

The speedo...yes slightly affected, pre fitting the 265's it over read by approx 10% at around 30MPH+ (as do most, if not all cars)...it is NOW pretty damn accurate according to the Satnav.

MPG - Again noticed no difference :)

Thanks guys,

I'll fit em and see how we go then :) picking up the disco today!!! how exciting!!

slightly more comfortable than my 90 going to work this time of year!

Cheers
