Hi all
My 2014 Range Rover 4.4 heater no longer sends warm air but cold AC ok
RR specialist replaced some type of valve costing nearly £500 but has made no difference
He seems beat at the moment and says dash may have to come out to diagnose.

I would have thought diagnostics would be the first step before removing anything.

if its the jag engine it needs a pump to push the hot water round the heater matrix as it wont get hot if its not working, that's why i don't drive my jag in winter, pump is imposable to reach without dismantling half the engine

Check and see if the hot water is reaching the heater pipes that go into the bulk head. If it's is then it's a failed hot/cold flap. If not then as said it could be the aux water pump that's failed if it applies.. Over complicated...

On the earlier l322 there is a valve block with solenoids on to divert the hot water in to the cabin its is known to fault resulting in no heating inside.

hi mate

is the kind of thing, alas don’t know if it’s exact one required in relation to the vin code

Indeed a great call as admittedly seeing it more and more on the discovery 4’s called a 3 x way park-heater valve where it also stops heat getting into the heater core when they fail

Yep that looks like the kiddy there was a guy a few months ago that had that seized on an l322.

many thks and indeed I’ve only become aware of those kind of things from D4 owners where theyve also stopped heating getting int9 the cabin

Looks like the solenoids fail preventing flow from the ports as I think they work by heating the engine block first then the cabin after , also some having a remote in order to preheat the engine before getting into the vehicle

thks again as always good to learn about other things
