Hi Guys
My wife has a 2011 SD4 Freelander with a problem whereby it loses power.

I can take the car out on a drive an the problem doesn't occur unless I get caught in traffic. If I am stuck in traffic for even 5 minutes the car loses power. There are no warning lights or messages, it just pulls away from standstill without any power, it builds up speed very slowly even if you give it throttle. Again at higher speeds, when it is in this "limp home" type mode, there is very little power and car doesn't respond to the throttle, though it does gain speed slowly.

Having had a friend put it on a computer, I have a few faults but posting what I think could be relevant to this:

Fuel system status - Fuel pump in delivery state - Inhibited
Fuel pump authorisation - B100A-15
FCDIM - Front Control/display interface Fault 1
IPC instrument cluster control module Fault 2
ATCM - All terrain control Module Fault 2
BCM - Body control Module Fault 7
RDCM Rear differential control module fault 1

Any tips or advice on where to start?

Has the fuel filter been changed recently? If so was it a genuine filter, which have the word Purflex on the top. If not, then that's the most likely cause of power loss when hot.

Historical faults are of no concern, and a good diagnostic machine will tell you if the faults are current or historic.
Ignore historic faults, but don't delete them, as they're often helpful later on down the line.

The car was serviced a few months back and this issue started a short while after. I will check the fuel filter to see if it's genuine and change it if not.

Recap:
On cold start the car would drive normal. If I wasn't caught in traffic the car would drive normal, if I got caught in traffic the car would lose power on take off, it would gain speed with momentum but there was an obvious power loss throughout the range. Switching the car off then on again didn't cure the problem; Cold starting would cure the problem.

Update:
Blanked off the EGR > No change, problem persisted.
Removed and cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors > Now the car always has loss of power (even on cold start) up to 2000-2500 revs but then the car drives completely normal with full power (above 2000-2500 revs).

In my mind this points to either the MAP or MAF sensors being at fault but wanted to check with some of the experts here for more opinions.

If I do need to change these, are there any recommended copy sensors or do I need to buy original which are quite expensive?

Did you fit a genuine (maked Purflex) fuel filter?

Could you have damaged either when cleaning?

Hi! Have you solved the problem?
