I know this is a simple one, ive heard of it happening before..

when you turn the key over to start position, instead of the usual starter motor engaging, all that happens is a click from a relay by the fuses and two lights flick on on the dash. Nothing from the starter at all. No solenoid click or anything. Can anyone give a pointer?

Thanks

Just had this happen - first thing I'd check is the wire to the solenoid - not the gurt big one, but the little 1/4" tab that actuates the solenoid. IMine was on but not making contact. Bit of a squeeze with a pair of pliers and off it went.

Other than that the list above is right on. Sart with the cheap bits and work your way up. :)

+1 Mine started doing that too, every now then just a click, cleaned the little connector and sorted it straight away :)
Worth checking out the whole list the guys suggested as all will probably need cleaning up

Climbed under neath the old bus last night. The connector had come off the solenoid

Greased my arm up and loss of some skin later its back on and working lovely

thanks for the swift replies!
