Yep, sure have, will bring with me Saturday

ok, that's great

have got a small spare aux fuse box, think that may be the way to go, so we can keep away from the main loom

had the pleasure in the past of having to make up a loom for my old series 3 , so doesn't worry me in the least

once we find the switched live can easily put that onto the aux fuse box, think it has 6 x fuses

so then will be easier to use for any further add ons , also got some corrugated sleeving to keep everything neat and tidy

Absolute gent - collecting 33amp cable and inline fuse holder on way home today, so should be good to go :D

always happy to help

good stuff, with u getting the bits

can go through the electrics stage by stage to ensure everything is perfect and done just so

won't have any use for the 6 x way fuse box so would rather put it to good use on ur landy

You might find 20 amp is right on the edge especially for start up, I went to 30 amp on mine to stop them blowing as the fan initially started up, been no trouble for the best part of 5 years now.
Interesting fact is the blue crimp on style terminals can only take 18 amp constant before things get to hot, we had big issues with cement tankers with 16 inch elec fans running non stop melting the fuse terminals, went to maxi fuses problem went away, extreme example I know.

know what u mean , going to use some 30 amp cable if i need to extend any of the wiring and 25amp fuses ,

got a spare small 8 x way spade fuse box, so that i can leave the loom alone

just got to get onto a suitable switched live that i'm able to get into without interrupting anything else

will test it after to see what amps it's pulling , got a clamp and multimeter to test it accurately, in order the install a suitable fuse and also to protect the cable

What I have always done when wiring extra crap in is to have minimal contact (geddit?) with the original electrics so in the event of a failure I can still get home.
Ive often thought mine needs doing with a 70 amp ign triggered relay feeding a bank of fuses/relays for all the extra bits and bobs, I have the parts just cant be arsed!

yep , geddit, lol

yes agree that's what i do, doing the absolute min disturbance to the original loom

when i had my series 3 , 88 , was driving down orpington high street and smoke started pouring out the dashboard , luckily i was able to get the battery lead off quick

after getting it recovered and back home, removed the instrument panel and there was more joins and insulating tape than original loom , where someone in the past had butchered it

so took the loom out laid it out in the kitchen table and made a new one, using the old loom as a template

I made a loom for a Honda CB760f sohc after the thing caught light on me whilst riding it.

blimey , ur were lucky there

surprising how long it takes making a loom up

could u imagine trying that with a D3, i would run for the hills, lol

Work in progress....had to order and buy additional bits, going to try again Saturday.

Wading kit 80% fitted, ordered banjo kit so need to remove transmission tunnel to fit gearbox and transfer box parts.

Lots to do still....
