afternoon all, unfortunately the turbo let go on my td4 yesterday. im in the process of gaining access to be able to asses the level of damage and ive hit a stumbling block!
it looks to me that i need to remove the housing for the air filter, theres 4 (10mm) bolts inside but it almost looks like the housing is part of a much larger piece that includes the section where you refill the oil, would that be correct or am i missing something simple?
i undid the 4 bolts and it would not budge, so obviously something is holding it.
im opting for the leave the IRD on method!

cheers

ok im pretty certain that part is all part of the rocker cover unfortunately!
now the issue is getting the damn turbo outlet hose, its almost like its glued on! nitemare!
its gonna be a long day

so far, its not difficult, but its awkward i guess. things seem to be a struggle to identify, but im taking it one step at a time. already been able to diagnose that its definately the turbo thats gone, can feel the bearings are knackered

ok, now its difficult! the second exhaust bolt onto the turbo. cant even see the damn thing let alone see to get a socket on it! ughhh. not enough hands and eyes!
