Hi all,

Few quick questions RE L322 air susp.

So, twice in the last few days it's come up as 'air susp inactive' the fault both times being "reservoir pressure static when filling"

Cleared the fault on both occasions and was fine straight after.

Now, it's always been a bit slow to raise from all ride heights, especially normal to off road. Just been playing with it, once it reached off rd height compressor was still running for quite a while longer (1min or so)

On the live data, The compressor temp reached 100 degrees C then cut out with the reservoir pressure at 11.7 bar (whilst static in off road height, not still raising between height settings). 100 degrees C seems high to me, is this normal?? Also, as for the compressor to stop pumping at 11.7 bar, shouldn't it be nearer 14 bar?

I'm thinking compressor on it's last legs.

Thoughts please?
Thanks :)

Knackered compressor worth trying one of the £25 overhaul kits off eBay as a brand new one is around £300

Forgot to mention, I did overhaul it about a year back, it did speed up the raising of the suspension a but but still wasn't as quick as it should have been IMO

Compressor is getting tired...

Not sure on the L322, but the thermal cut out on the P38 is 120degC I think....

Thanks ant.

When you get the chance, could you do us a fav......drop yours into access mode then raise straight to off road height calculating roughly how long it takes to completely lift, whilst monitoring live data on compressor temp and the pressure in your reservoir ?

check old posts static when filling (rs2000custom);)

Don't scare the poor guy.... :D:D

Rob, I can do the timing (tomorrow as the car is at work in the yard - long story...well OK short story, Gearbox really on its last legs, multiple misfires and the MOT ran out!), but I don't have a way of monitoring Compressor Temp (unless All Comms can do it!)

Will - thanks, I did have a look through that thread previously, but given the temperature the compressor was reaching on mine, the time it was taking to reach heights and the pressure in the reservoir I thought perhaps compressor was knackered.

Ant, top man. Sounds like you really do have your work cut out.... !!!
No rush with it, whenever you get a chance. Hawkeye does the temp of compressor in live data, so would have thought all comms would too....?

Cheers :)

120C is the cut out temperature on the P38. Compressor never gets that hot on mine unless I have let the air out for some reason and it has the refill the tank.
I would guess your system has a leak if it's working that hard. Just because you can't hear a hiss does not mean there is not one or more leaks from airsprings etc.

but surely the car would have sagged in one way or another after being left for a week?

OK, timed the rise from Access to Standard....

Left the car running for 5-6 minutes with a door open to make sure I had a full tank, and the rise took 6-7 seconds to get it up (back first then front), then a further 6 or so seconds for it to do the fannying around (getting itself happy and level)

Too man, much appreciated Ant.
