My mates 2000my DSE left him stranded yesterday as did mine two weeks ago ( see earlier post). Engine immobilised and press key fob messages on dash. Tried eka code and pressing key fob as per book but no joy. The garage that sorted my 1996 dse unable to access his car though like they did mine but said they have managed to turn off his immobiliser. Towed her back to mine and left overnight. This morning tried Rick the pick's method of with drivers door open turned key to left and pushed inner door lock button down hard. Turn key to right and pull inner door lock up. Hey presto she started. Great stuff. Thanks again Rick. Next problem. No accelerator response. Auto shift in neutral or park engine responds to accelerator no problem. Select Drive or Reverse and you can deck the accelerator and engine doesn't pick up any revs and car just crawls away from standstill. Not too good at junctions to say the least. All ideas gratefully accepted.

UPDATE. Removed PSI tuning box and car now has correct accelerator response. i.e. it now accelerates from a standstill when you press the pedal!

Think it was the wrong one for his engine (2000my plastic intake manifold) but not sure. Its a PSI unit like you see advertised but with the 2 large connectors for fuel pump loom but only a vacuum hose to MAP sensor. No other electrical connectors. Is this for earlier engine? Like my 1996 one.

Don't know a lot about these but as far as i am aware if there is a pressure pipe to the MAP sensor it is a very early unit. The later ones do not have this, just a wiring interface where the MAP sensor cable is routed through the power box. One is pre EGR the other post EGR. Early one will not work on the later ECU.

Yep I was wondering if it was maybe off an older BMW. 325/525? It certainly didn't do my mates 2000my dse any favours. Don't know what the previous owner thought.
