Hiya peeps my first post! :D Anyhows.... i have just bought a 2000 plate 4.6 Autobiography and am well chuffed, a few niggles all minor BUT the steering is very wooly, lots of play before the wheels actually start turning but no untoward noises etc any suggestions of what to check first?

I think thats how they are! I found mine a bit strange to adjust to after a normal car. Just cruised the MOT and no issues with the steering. I will bow to the greater knowledge though.
Enjoy your RR

Ahhh im in dubai you see and when you buy a car you transfer the ownership and HAVE to do a test same as the MOT in the UK at the same time of purchase. they never picked anything up BUT in saying that it was bright daylight when the test was done so they never even checked the lights of which three were out PLUS the license plate light too! LOL There is alot of play though i mean you have to turn from 12 o'oclock to around 2:30 to get a reaction if that makes sense....?

Radius arm and panhard rod bushes or steering box bascklash adjustment.

:welcome2:hi welcome to landyrange , i too have a 2000 p38 4.6 v8 autobiography and i have no play in the steering at all .very positive and responsive so i would agree with wammers and get it checked out at an independant garage it shouldent cost anything for a check even in saudi ..good luck with it in the future and keep it well serviced and it will look after you if you look after it .cheers mozz :):)

You don't have to go to Dubai for that. There's a place round here that does sun roofs, mind you you'd have to drive in and reverse out, it's only just a bit bigger than a double garage!
:D

There's a place in Liverpool just the same it's called Toxteth. You drive in and when you drive out, you have no windows, no wheels and no tax disc. And you don't even need to stop.:D:D:D

LOL LOL LOl my mate here in Dubai works for a bank and has won a trip to the UK...Liverpool to be more specific as Standard Chartered is the sponsor, boy is he in for a culture shock!

Terribly rude question but how much does an 11 year old RR go for in Dubai and do you know any sheikhs with a mint-ish Classic LSE in their tent that they would part with?:)

Lol no not rude at all! I paid 24,000 Dirhams which at the current exchange rate of 5.7 = £4200. I will be doing a proper appraisal of it shortly and the video will be listed as I bought it to play with and sell on. In regards to your second question, the Classics can fetch a few bob here actually. I've been here a month and am still awaiting final my visa stamp but after that I'll have a few Rangies up for sale for sure!

Great! Well good luck settling in and in all seriousness if you do come across a nice LSE let me know. I assume they'd be well looked after over there and I'd even considering importing back to Germany though this would involve some paperwork. Here the Classics are either really grotty or they wan't silly money
