Just fiddling with a 200tdi before dropping it in my old 90 - how easily should the actuator arm on the turbo wastegate move when still connected to the actuator - just trying to move it by hand, mine feels siezed - anyone know if this is normal? thanks
steve

it should be quite stiff , but you should be able to move it . are you saying you can't move it at all ??

I certainly couldnt move it just by finger pressure - i could try with a small open ender on the linkage? how freely should it move? steve

you wont move it with one finger but you should be able to push it out with two hands . you could try taking the circlip off the butterfly bit and check that that has'nt become stuck .
did you hear the engine run before it was removed from the disco ??
if you did and it did'nt smoke then i would think it will be ok .
i have two 200tdi engines here and both of the actuators can be moved with enough pressure .
