200 tdi in 110 PU with Alisport turbo, I should of used stock but fitting the manifold pipe it is a tight fit.
How close does the pipe end up to the frame, I am assuming it is quite close?
a friend is doing the modifications, presently the manifold & the adapter pipe from Steve Parker fit tho it is still quite tight to engine.
the adapter pipe just clears the oil pan. There is some space on the frame side assuming when it is centered the pipe will be next to frame, is this normal pipe being tight to frame?

I am not sure on that set up, but original turbo diesel and defender 200tdi actually have the downpipe bolted to the engine block.

I made one for the tdi in my series and it was very tight, inside stud/nut access was tighter then yours, see if I can find pics.

Found pics, mine goes up and out the wing due to no room beside the engine.

The Steve Parker type does end up being a tight fit to the chassis rail/frame as in your pic. Have known some take a nip out of the rail edge for a tad more clearance. Others have lifted the engine a tad on that side with a plate under the rubber mount.
 
The series is a different setup this engine was installed in a series when I got it, rebuilt they could not get it to fit.

thnx will see if either of those options will work when get muffler lined up.
 
There are many older Landy's with 200tdi Discovery engines in the UK. It is just a case of some trial and error to get a tidy fit.
 
Always fun finding a decent air filter set up that does not look crap, rest is pretty easy.
 
The inner wheel liners are removed to replace the galvanized wheel liner they will need to be modified to fit the intake off the turbo going to intercooler & air filter. The air filter will need some astral guidance to install.
note I am still removing parts.
 
My welder friend is concerned about engine rotation?
I believe these engines turn clockwise from the front.
I am assuming not a high reving engine this is not an issue?
Has this been noticed?
 
Not the best photo but you can see how close the down pipe is on my discovery 200tdi to both the passenger footwell and the chassis rail (can see winch cables in conduit running along the top of the chassis rail). This is a steve parker stainless down pipe which has been wrapped to try and heat shield the surrounding a little.

Thanks it is getting there almost it was quite tight to oil sump hopefully next fitting will be better.
the alisport seems slightly fwd a tad more room to footwell. Maybe
