you can try this ,,,,,,,, I just leave the key in the cylinder for about 1/2 hour and after that she start again that was 2 to 3 year ago ,

As wammers said, can't sync a key with the BeCM in an alarmed state. Need to either enter the EKA code which you can't cos the door lock micro switch is duff, or use a diagnostic device to reset. Also the C/L does work on the key.

You can try to fake the EKA using the micro switch wires - figure out which is the lock and which is the unlock also you need to emulate the door being closed too.

Easiest option is to use a nanocom, textbook, faultmate to get into the BeCM and reset..... If dougdotcom is willing to travel to you bite his hand off and take his offer it will save you a butt load of heartache.

From my experience and I have had to do this quite a few times you dont need central locking to enter code just put the key in the barrel and follow the procedure and once the code is entered the central locking will work then put the key in the ignition and press both buttons then all should be good good luck

I think that confirms my suspicions with the 3rd microswitch with the blue/red wire is independent of the CL.

Any progress?

Yes. All fixed. No call outs. A long call to Mozz didn't help - but thanks ever so much for trying. I learned more about the car and the location of things like the RF receiver and how to get in etc etc - so even tho it didn't fix it, it was worth the call!

In the end, I'm not sure what fixed it. But Mozz's run throughs probably helped.

I took the drivers side door apart trying to fettle the central locking. When I put it back together, I'd forgotton to attach the link from the door handle. So imagine my surprise when I locked it and then couldn't get back in, even with the manual key. It would unlock, but no door handle.

Had visions of smashing a window.

Then my 7 yo daughter pressed the tailgate release button and it all fired in to life. All locks worked and so did the keyfob!!

I had pressed it before, but when keylockout was on.

So no idea what it was in the end, but it's all working. And I'll never change the battery again without keeping a live supply to it!! :)

Even the central locking is working on the drivers door. Maybe it was a loose wire? Maybe the tailgate had it tripped out or something? Who knows, but now I can have a pint and chill out for the evening! :)

Just one problem. One of the keyfobs doesn't work. It's the right one for the car as it physically unlocks it, but the alarm goes off. The other one is fine. I've tried the pressing buttons whilst turning it method. Any other way of programming it?

Thanks all

Nik

Never had a problem disconnecting the battery on either of mine:D

Have to say that mine goes flat regularly and I only have EKA if I have done something daft normally whack the charger on and bingo off we go so pretty much the same as Datatek

I've been taking the battery out or taking both terminals off before charging it. Is it safe to just charge it in-situ, as it were? I was worried it might fry the electrics!

Glad to hear it has all worked out.
