Does anyone have any info on the connections for the starter solenoid?

When I disassembled the vehicle, the battery cable as well as the brown wires were connected to the top screw terminal. The red/white wire was connected to the terminal marked "IGN"

What I am not sure is what the other spade connector does. On the new unit it is marked "CB" in a circe. The mnaual doesn't show anything about this. See photo.

The top terminal (to battery) is marked "SJ". The silver spade terminal under that is the unknown one marked "CB". the one below that is marked "ING". The bottom terminal which is connected to the motor is marked "STA".

When the two main terminals are connected to the battery, and "ING" is also connected to positive, should the copper core be pulled inwards towards the back of the unit? This would make sense as far as I can tell.

Thanks for any replies.

inwards is correct as it connects the 2 large terminals ,top with spade is battery feed ,spade is battery feed to ignition switch etc ,one of the other 2 will engage the solenoid 1 will be live once solenoid is engaged which is redundant to you

Thanks for the reply James.

From testing today, it is the top one of the small terminals which will engage the solenoid when 12v is put across it.

Although you say it is redundant in this case, what would the one which is live when the solenoid is engaged be used for?
