Finally in and running

Took the air filer and pipe off mine and managed to get the Kenlowe out...will fit to the Bulkhead and re-plumb in once I tested it...
Will simply stick a standard 3 pin plug on to test, if it works thought I get a Caravan socket (can get them in black) and mount on the front somewhere then simply get a lead thats 3 pin plug to the caravan socket...
There are no other wires on mine going to the dash etc so if there is any auto temp control guess its bult in...as for timer, could just use one on the plug end...was my thoughts....they must exist, like the ones for turning house lights on and off...but one you can just set for 15 mins maybe....I'd be worried about plugging it in and then forgetting about it due to change of plans etc....but all this based on it working which I'll not know until I've finished painting it.
Tell you what tho...spend a fortune on bits....
Windows are cut out and test fitted....the prep is as bad as I expected on the paint....so many layers....its quite strieght in the pannels but while sanding if a chunk of paint falls out ...its spot filler and sand...spot fillet and sand...
Not done anything on it for last two days...just needed a break as was sanding it in my sleep!!
The orange under the matt black seems a good amount of paint was applied...but its rough...

Also worried that some RIVETs (Bought a load) will be best replaced as already sanded down thin before I got to them...sure it will all come together

Where have you located the socket? And does it say how long it takes to warm the engine? Has it got a timer?
Socket is just a lead under the bonnet, I intend to make a flap for the socket in the false air intake which is on the side where the power is in the garage.

Need to time how long it takes to warm up, will report back.

No timer, I'll use one on the socket.

Make sure the rivets are the blind type as they wont let water through like std pop rivets.

Mines at front behind main grill....wierd locking plug, looked to see if I could get the lead as missing....but to no avail....hence sugestion of the Caravan option....

Need to get motivated to Body prep again....so gonna crack on again tomoz as Busy Sunday....

Don't laugh, I've not used it yet obviously as basically picked it up and put in garage for paint...
As already said it an Ex MOD. How the hell to the lights work....I've ordered new indicator stalk and wiper....behind wiper is a light switch, this is seems is side and main, however I have a HUGE round knob in the lower middle of the dash.
This brought on the side lights only before I stripped for paint...and could only get "flash" or "main beam" on (pulling the indicator stalk back) when the side lights were on...
Found one Pic which shows the centre knob as like a POWER CONTROL knob....so I little confised as was told it was the light switch on MOD....if thats the case whats the one for behind the wiper stalk?

Please help...wont be long before it goes back together and need to know for testing....and if the lights stalk is only £10+ may get a new one then they are all new....

Ah found it again....it looks like the BIG switch but mine is located where the gauge is...also not labled on mine....but defo seems to be this as in the centre there was nothing...click clockwise side lights on, click clockwise again and same...centre off then same going counter clockwise....could this be just because the light stalk was only on side lights?? Like I say I'm a tad confuse....and dont take much LOL :)

Tital of Pic says:-
This switch turns on, off or disables the headlights, sidelights, tail lights, indicators, dash lights, fog lights and the convoy light.

Guess I'll just sus it out when I start to put it back together....
My my the paint job was a mess.....don't think I have ever done so much sanding and filling and sanding etc....
I hate the small strips under the side pannel either side of the curved bit....full of rivets and thin gap to get into to sand and get smooth.....
Slow but should be worth it.....also can't wait to start putting on the "extras" I got pileing up on it....side steps....extra gauges...new lights.....list goes on....boxes everywhere!!!

;)Will get summat fitted "profesionally" once done;)
It will hardly leave the garage with Security and CCTV for now....remember....I've only done, well less than 3 miles in it since I bought it!
It drove sweet bar I thought the brakes although good...pedel seemed hard....maybe servo...but just sailed through MOTY with no Advisories....once bodywork done....it'll be put on the road while I do other Jobs that exist or crop up...
Knowing it would take a while doing the paint Job...did not see much point in running it...plus...got plenty of other cars :D and another on the way begining of December.
All I can see it "needs" so far....the Kenlowe heater which is now sat on top where the air box would sit needs locating and maybe re-plumbing in....(after digging it out from being wedged between exhaust down pipe and start-motor)
I have a reciept for new Steering BOX but the pump is very wet...but steering function seemed fine.....no play and precise....
All "standard" gauges apart from the speedo go bang over....like into red or full tank....hope its just wired wrong as its had the leather dash covers fitted "poorly" and LED dash lights in the past.
After market gear knob loose....don't like it anyway so may replace for standard new or a nicer after market one...
Brakes as above...
But will give it the once over and full service anyway as I always do...even if I have record that its just been done...for my peice of mind.
Also got a large 5l tin of WAXOIL once the underside has been cleaned and checked...
Plenty to do....and all the time in the world to do it...:)

LOL, BOOTS blue....a standard Land Rover colour bar all accounts is going "where the gray is now"....but even though I picked it off the colour chart in the paint shop...can't find it on a google search...LOL
