Hello
Could anyone please shed some light on something that I have been trying to determine for quite a bit of time ? More specifically what brand shock absorbers were used by the Land Rover factory in 1997 (I assume its the same regarding previous model years) on the Discovery 1s. Was it Armstrong, Boge or Monroe ?
Let me know ! Thank you in advance ! ;)

The gist is that no matter who made them for LR cos as long as the same manufacturer makes them under theyr own brand it's just an other aftermarket and there can be better aftermarkets made by others... after i tried many brands i became Bisltein fan

LR normally use Boge apparently, or maybe Delphi?
What's stamped into the tube?

There are(actually were) two things related to part numbers which made the difference : a genuine LR part should have LR suffix and an OEM(which is supposed to be the same manufacturer who made it for LR too) should have G suffix(unfortunately this thing might be altered these days by all kind of marketing scams). One thing is important to be mentioned: genuine LR is not just a more expensive OEM with LR sticker on it, it's a better part made by better materials which has to pass tests imposed by LR as to get the LR label, those which fail those tests but still ISO compliant are sold cheaper as OEM beside others made with lower quality requirements.
