My thoughts exactly. I thought it looked rather wobbly. @RangeRoller dt
Had a water pump bearing fall apart on me one day just as backing out the drive, it was like why has steering gone heavy then oh bugger alternator light on belt must`ve gone, no, bearing gone and fan up against the rad so new pump and fan off never to be replaced (kept it in the shed with cowl, passed on to new owner when sold car)
 
Hella condenser is about £110 from Allparts or similar.

I’m not particularly bothered about having AC (I’ve a weird phobia of it). So I never use it in cars that have it.

Can I not utilise the AC fans (without having working AC) and ditch the viscous fan in the process.

I don’t do any hauling. Car runs to work on a B road, to the gym on a motorway and around the farm at the weekend so fairly low stress

If the fans work the rest of the aircon system does not matter, so yes you can use the aircon fans and ditch the viscous, my cars have been fine even in temperatures of 42C with no viscous and I tow but not tried towing when it's that hot but OK at 28C with 3 tonnes plus on the hook. 3.2mm fuel line
Drive belt
Drive belt tensioner
Water pump (metal impeller)
Coolant
Oil
Air & oil filters
32mm spanner for Viscous fan

Anything I’m missing?

Also does the water pump just use the rubber o-ring? Or does it need a separate Gasket and sealer

Finally, has anyone used Forte Injector cleaner. I’ve been recommended it

Just the O ring on the water pump, I put a light smear of grease on it before reassembly.
I hope your spanner is a real one, not one to the pressed tin ones advertised for fan removal.
The drive belt tensioner is the little cylinder on the belt tensioner, make sure that the tensioner arm is not seized on the (Large diameter) shaft.
Also I hope you have not bought silicone rubber fuel line, it's no good for diesel.

Spanner is indeed a real one. Already got the viscous coupling off. Didn’t take too much force thankfully.

Yes I’ve got the tensioner you’ve described. Pulley arm isn’t seized but is a little stiff. Moves fairly freely but not fluid super freely

Take it off and clean up the shaft followed by some grease. The hex in the end cap is 17mm.

Aircon will dry the car out. Damp is not good in these vehicles!
 
Was the viscous fan knackered, and dont forget the cable ties for the leak off pipes.
To be honest there wasn’t any cracks in the fan from what I can see. When the fan was on and engine cold the fan would spin but very stiffly.

I’m going to have a proper close look at it tonight under some better light.

The Aircon has got a missing belt to the pump. I’m not sure of the state of the Aircon to be honest. If I desperately needed to keep the car dry then that’s the next project.

On the subject of keeping the inside dry though I had planned on using a dehumidifier overnight once a month or so

You can get calcium chloride stick things that keep shipping containers dry but they're about £20 each.

Good idea if you have the kit.
