Normally it is easy to tell if your car has ABS because the light goes on with the other lights when the ignition is turned on, but with the Disco there is no ABS light illuminated at any time.

Despite this, people keep telling me that it should have that feature...

I've done a couple of "brake tests" and the wheels don't lock up - but then again the tyres are all very good so that could just be good traction rather than anti-lock brakes.

Does anybody know?

I didn't think a 1993 disco had ABS, nevertheless if it does u will find a Wabco ABS block (photo below) on the inner wing its N/S on the 300 series.
ABS only works when the tyres loose grip, so if you have good tyres that will only be on wet grass, gravel etc and snow and ice, which as I don't go near grass or gravel etc... its once a year when ice and if we are lucky snow arrives that my ABS comes into play. :)

I don't recall seeing an ABS block, but I'll have a look tomorrow. I need to replace the battery anyway so I'll be under the bonnet to do that.

I am a firm believer in good tyres and good driving being far better than any ABS system.
