Hello all,
I am considering buying an older defender but would want to convert it to LPG, any advice welcome particularly any recommended fitters in the north east of england.
I run a freelander now and want to turn the clock back a little. The new landy is an 89 defender, petrol and I need to get a bit more out of it than 15-20mpg.
In anticipation of your inevitable wisdom
many thanks
Dave

With the price of lpg these days plus the cost of the kit you would be far better off putting a 200/300tdi in it from a discovery. Total cost if you do it yourself, about £400..or £1200 if you get a specialist to do it.

Approx 28mpg.

Or just buy a diesel in first place.

glad to have cheered you all up.
Been looking for a while and was looking for diesel, lovely petrol version came along in good nick got me tempted. never thought about sticking a diesel in it, obvious as it is.
Many thanks
