1958 S1 Restoration in Cairns Australia

Hi I'm restoring a 88" 1958 S1 in Cairns Australia. I have very little experience and knowledge of working on cars - so it should be interesting! I expect to be asking quite a few questions! My LR was shipped to Australia in parts and put together in Sydney. all the best Scott

Land rover was famous fer shipping out vehicles in CKD format: completely knocked down. Yours would have been one of them from yer description of being sent out in bits. They did it tfor a number of reasons. Avoid shipping and tax costs. Also spread the assembly work out which allowed them to sell in certain overseas markets.
