Hi all - might be a strange ask but;
recently my wipers stopped working, they were absolutely fine then the misses bashed the stalk and now they've stopped working along with the screen washer. I've had a look underneath the cowling and there are no obvious reasons that would cause this, no disconnected wiring etc. Iv'e not got a multimeter, and wouldn't know how to use one lol!! what are the chances that it's just a simple case of replacing the stalk??
Or, I have some spare switches on my dash panel - how easy would it be to connect the wiper / washer to those switches instead of having a stalk control...???
Thanks people!

you could check voltage input to switch and voltage output from switch when functions are selected that would prove or disprove switch

My 110 200tdi did this, was the earth on the inner wing, moved it to the bulkhead and now they work fine, before I did that I disconnected the washer pump wires and they worked, strange truck but it's all part of its charm

Will try that too!! hehe, I do love the little quirks, make them more loveable!!

Cheers man, will invest in one - are they easy to learn to use?

The pro ones with loads of features can look a bit daunting, I started with one that just read voltage ac/dc and circuit testing, it was very easy to use and great for testing switches, fuses, lengths of wire etc. Most will have a resistance meter and current reading, both of which will come in handy as you start to learn more about how to test and what to test!

That's a great help!!! will look at getting one!! thanks for that!!
