1.8 engine weight???

hello

has anyone got any idea how heavy a 1.8 freelander engine is??? need to send one over to spain for a mate and we been quoted £300 on esitmated weight of 250 kg, its just the block, head and injector manifold, if i can find the weight out might make the difference of £150 on post?

any ideas or point to right direction greatfully recieved

had a quick check mate and for the basic engine it is 100kg according to

History of the K-series

check under the title K-series - an engine to be proud of?

Hi,

Strap it on a euro-pallet - that's a must, get the total weight, then contact a haulier like Barrington Freight - who do daily groupage to Spain.

Alternatively try John Shirley, a freight forwarder in Dover - he is an expert for eastern Europe, but has his finger on the pulse for everywhere, and helps foreign drivers to make up full loads - he might be very competative.
