least your rust bucket would have shiny bits to draw the buyers eye..... can't believe people would buy it.

I think the kit has more to do with improving low end torque than all-out power. It claims 224 lbf ft @ 1400rpm, as opposed to 195 lbf ft @ 1800rpm. That would be a massive improvement, for towing, well into Td5 territory.

Because of their limited revs, power figures can be misleading on diesels, its all about torque.

I do agree its a lot of money to spend on a disco 1 , however it might be a different story if the engine was being used for another application.

Alternatively, it might be interesting if the turbo could be got on its own, then find out what the revised pump settings are and just get your own pump recalibated on a test bench.

Still wouldnt pay that for ANY 300tdi mod, no matter what it was going in

His facts and figures are all based on the fact that a 300tdi engine (99% of which are now 10+ years/100,000+miles old) still have their original 111bhp/195 lbf ft torque to achieve his quoted gains.

IF i was to spend that much i would just buy a complete new engine which would have its original performance stats rather than bolting that kit onto an older engine which would probably only bring it back to its original stats anyway
