I am now using my Defender 2.5 turbo diesel for my commute and am trying to make my landy as economical as possible.

so far i have had the engine terra cleaned, fitted a snorkel, and blanked off the egr valve.

i have also removed as much weight as i can.

so next step is remove the cat and put in a bypass pipe
thinking of getting this one any views on whether its good or not ?

the next step would be an electric fan

does anyone have a view on the kenlowe kit?

look forward to hearing your responses

I've reduced my fuel spend by 60% a week, its an ace mod, cost me £300 but also improves the longevity of parts on the fender...

I bought a bike :) lol

a fender is never going to be an economical vehicle, bolton bits do a good cheap leccy fan kit, snorkel reduces efficiency cos the engine has to draw air further along a pipe (increased resistance)
Service it properly, air n fuel filters make a big difference, and a frequent oil/filter change.
if you only use it on road, get road bias tyres, if you go off consider a second "off road" set.
I found tweaking the pump improved mpg slightly once I got used to it as I wasn't foot to the floor as much.

Crisp n dry has anti foamimg agents that reportedly stuff yer injection pump.

Stick to 100% pure veg oil

doh, i put 100 ltrs through the other day.

It was on offer at £3 for 2 x 2 ltrs or 2.70 for 2 ltrs..... eerrr ok

Anyone know what anti foaming agents these are?

I tweaked the pump on my little pug 106 and it went a lot better, more torque pulling out of junctions etc, mpg also improved by about 5mpg, that was from 50 to 55 with 70 on a run at speed limits:)

And fit one of them black strips across the bonnet like what boy racers have, with the plastic deflectors just above it. Oh and have you got 'go faster stripes'? Everyone knows that they give you an increase of 150BHP and at least an extra 60mpg. White stripes though, any other colour won't work
