Guys,

I know this one has been talked about on the forum for quite sometime, however....:blabla: I have just bought a second hand key for my Range p38 4 lt petrol & have tried to reprogram the key fob. I have tried what I believe to be the correct procedure for the year of my vehicle of which is a 1995....So I have turned the key from left to right whislt pressing and holding the "lock" button on the fob. I have no joy and it will not program the fob to lock and unlock from the fob???!!!!!!
However this new key that doesn't work off the fob will start the engine and manually, by putting the key in the lock and turning it, lock and unlock the vehicle, arming and disarming the alarm????????!!!!!!:confused::confused:

Really unsure on this one guys could someone put me straight on this as maybe Im not doing something I should??!!!

Thanks,

T.

If you know that and you have looked at other posts on the subject, you must have known before you bought it that it wouldn't work, so why are you surprised that its not working now you bought it??

how does the secondhand key fit the doors n ignition?
Good point he must have changed the key over and put it in the new fob

Guys, thanks for the replies. I bought a second hand fob with an uncut key. I was led to believe that on reprograming it would automatically program to my ecu?
unless I have been misinformed?

Thanks,

T.

You have been misinformed.
This topic has been more than well covered on the forum...should have done a search.
You deserve everything you have got and perhaps will realise like the other "Mugs" that have bought them that they don't work and no-one can reprogramme them other than Huf..the manufacturers..and they will not, and do not reprogramme used keys.

So for the last time....THEY DON'T
T WORK>>>THEY DON'T WORK
.

Suppose we will get the usual post now "I know someone who had one programmed..but can't remember where they had it done !!!!!!!!"

I think your comments to someone whom is very new to the forum are not very welcoming at all IrishRover????
I had a brief look through the other threads left on the forum and would not have asked the question had I had the answer to Re programing second hand keys etc.....
