fault 2 1/2 ratty where are ya ?

Right Thought me turbo was buggered that may not br the case...Driving home tonight slow a feck.Major loss of power going up any kind of incline with a slight juddering and shed loads of black smoke with the throttle down hard.
Could be a blocked injector ?
The turbo pipes were pretty dirty and had some air filter in it !:doh:

Black smoke is overfuelling so is unlikely to be an injector. If you have some sort of filter in your turbo pipes take it out. It's restricting the airflow. Take it on a drive. If it's back to normal great. If not......

It sounds like either split turbo hose, blocked air filter or fecked egr valve.

Get somebody to rev the engine for you. Can you hear the turbo whistleing? Check the air filter. If it's clean then put it back in. If it's very dirty replace it with a new one. Feel and listen all along the turbo pipes. Can you hear a hissing sound or feel an air leak like you have a puncture? If no can you feel the rubber pipes expanding and contracting as the turbo cuts in and out? Egr valve. Get shot of it. get one of these egr removal kits.

Cheers ratty unfortunately i'm at work all week .

I dont think it has an egr as there is a blanking plate on the exhaust manifold just above the turbo.

will check the pipes tonight.

It had absolutely no go in it at all last night even the slightest hill and th revs dropped right down.:smash:

right just gave it a blast and found an empty road and revved it upto just under 5000rpm which seemed like the limit !
Got back and the top hose from the intercooler to the injectors had sucked in to the point it looked like a couple of pringles stuck together ! Reccon thats it ? I took out the air filter so thats not restricting it.:attention:

Thats your problem. The hose is collapsing. Stick a new hose on and it should be sorted.
