Have just discovered the dreaded leaking quarter light seals, and the rear floor rot. The new quarter light seals are really expensive, would anyone know a reasonable source for these, plus any fitiing tips from anyone who has done this job would be much appreciated.

The seals on my wifes Disco were leaking and caused the floor to rot out completely.

After fitting a new floor I didn't want this to happen again, so I successfully sealed the existing rubbers with a bead of silicone between the rubber seal and the bodywork, then another bead between the seal and the glass.

Hasn't leaked since - hurrah !!

Thanks Biglad,

I may have to go with the silicone option, although the old seals do have some very large splits in them, around the areas where they bend to form the corner angles.

I found using the black stuff that's sold for guttering repairs worked very well.

Also where the rubbers have cracked, it you first put some good quality Gaffa tape over them, you can stuff in enough mastic so that when you peel off the tape, the gaps are filled in.

Just my two penneth

Thanks for info, there is a stockist listed in Southampton which is quite close to me, sounds like the easiest solution.

Best Regards
