Hello all, I have a pair of 200tdi D1's and one had an origonal radio casette that I removed a few years ago when replacing the gearbox.
since then it's been left unplugged as I don't know its unlock code:(
is there anywhere to get these radio codes?
suppose LR but was wondering if theres a pdf list or something similar?

Rich.

No you're right. I had to do the same. LR will supply it provided you can prove you own the car. They used to do it for free but I bet they charge now! Didn't come with the Driver's Hand book? etc in the lovely grey/black folder, (that you never got:()?

s it was a few years ago (%??) I cannot remember if I looked in the handbook, or if I had a handbook, or if said handbook was actually for either of my pair of almost identical D1 200tdi 3door in met green carriwhatever paint with brown interior.....

or, if the radio was actually the origonal from one of these:rolleyes:

I'll look for a handbook.....

:D

Rich.

If you find a Handbook, it has little pockets in the folder one of which should have a little card in it with, IIRC, the radio code, the EKA code, and one other thing I can't remember.
Keep on trying bruv!

So you think the 200 series security system has a EKA code... why not update yourself with the disco model spec before posting on the forum, as it appears u have nothing better to do :)

Discool, I did say IIRC!
I am not such an anorak as to know absolutely everything there is to know about every single part of every single Disco ever made.
You I am sure are right about the EKA code, I quite simply didn't know about it. My Disco 1s, 300tdi and V8 and Disco 2 have it, I THINK, but perhaps not, so I would be grateful if you could clarify that for me and anyone else reading this who is interested. I thought it was a reasonable assumption to make based on what I knew. but anyway, the radio code is what he is looking for.

So, am I also wrong about the radio code? After all that is what the OP is interested in!

It is precisely because I do have other better things to do than check up in every corner of the internet before posting that I make the occasional boob. But then picking me up on my mistakes is obviously the life-blood to peeps like you. Without me you would not have any entertainment it appears.
So keep watching me and get your jollies pointing out my errors. Whatever floats your boat. And don't worry, you aren't the only one doing it. I learn that way and am grateful for it!

I have nothing to do better on my one hour journey on a train from work than look a your posts, and then raise my eyes by the lack of knowledge that you have on a D1 & D2 which you own but still post, but then Ive been interested in the early discos a long time and with my early RR before its demise and before Forums. :D

And without peeps like you to keep enthusiastic peeps like me on the straight and narrow, the world would be a sadder and more misinformed place.
I know I don't always get it right but I am always willing to learn and if peeps like you know lots more than I do then there will always be those who can seriousl;y help others.
I seriously wish I had the time to go all through my discos down to the last nut and bolt, but I am typical of having too many cars and not enough time. Forums like this help peeps like me tons, this one has definitely saved me money, time and heartache.
And like you too I have maintained all my own cars, and built a few, since 1972, long before forums. And I wish they had been around then! Things were much tougher and we had to rely on Haynes manuals and mates we knew, or being in club of some kind. Hence my starting my kit car club. Still I am gratified to know I entertain you during your commute. Have a nice evening when you get home!:)

Okey, thread update time....

had a looksee for a handbook...

thats a neg:rolleyes:

nothing else to report:oops:

maybe I'll get brave & email LR....

Rich.
No need to feel you have to be brave, if it is the original radio and you can prove you are the owner, they will provide you with the radio code. they just might charge you as I have heard they no longer do it for free which they did when i had to get it done!

I had this problem. If you have no joy with LR I think there are some services who can decode your radio if you send it to them.

I was all ready to do this to get my original tape/radio working, then I noticed the original radio code had been written by hand on the inside of the cubby box lid! (It was 1112 by the way).
