Hello,

I've been looking all over for a new end peice for my landrover 90 after the very end broke off mine bot too long ago.

It's a 1988 Land Rover 90 with a 200tdi under the hood.

The image below shows the current exaust, but the searching I've done has brought up lots of different shapes end bits.

If anyone could point me in the direction of the part number that I need, it would be much appreciated. I just don't want to order something that looks right bit tuns out to be wrong.

Looks like a standard rear section for one of those. This one might do. Or give Paddock a ring, tell em what you have got, and they will send you one.
You often have to cut these around a little bit, reweld brackets, stuff like that, looks like you are missing a rear bracket and rubber there somewhere.

Are they Land Rover parts fitted? If so they do have the number embossed on their silencers, might be worth a look.

I had a nightmare trying to get for my little MPI def. I ended up changing middle and end box but had to fab a small crossover to the header.

The middle box was oval and old was round and sits a little further back so is not the right 1 but it all fits good now.

You seem to have a round center too so the bits I have probably are the 1 you need, you need to look at the big boys sites as they have pics too which can help.
Have a look at these 2 NRC 8889 or NTC 1802. Might get lucky:)

Have a look on Rimmer Bros website they have pictures that help identify which one you have. I got an aftermarket complete set for my 86 Def 90 five years ago and just changed the centre pipe. For my 2.5NA there was a choice of 2 that would fit I went for tail pipe out the side which was different to the one I took off but it fitted OK.

Thanks @Turboman

My only concern is that this one doesnt seem to have the big bend in it?

Am I being stupid?

Ta

Think it's just the pics, just simple line drawings for illustrative purposes. They have to have the bend in them, to go over the rear axle.
If you are worried about it, just ring Paddocks, or John Craddock, they will talk you through it on the phone.

Good spot re the brake fluid, looking at the stains on the tyre it seems to have been ****ing out for ages!

It looks like a bit of a work in progress. The chassis leg looks recently rebuilt, but the A frame is crusty with rust. Guessing he is going through it replacing the knackered bits a few at a time.

I would have hoped that brakes would have been nearer the top of the list. A wheel cylinder is only a tenner.

Probably hadn't noticed it before zeaphod,s comment, although he should have. Judging from his uncertainty about the exhaust, I would imagine he is a newish owner of the vehicle. Could be wrong.

Cheers everyone,

@Turboman you'd be right. Brought the car just under a year ago in need of some TLC, and me without any LR knowledge. I've been slowly serving and replacing parts when I've had the time and money. I'm only 20 so everything I've learnt about cars has really been in the last 12 months. Thank God for the Haynes manual and all the help from this forum.
