The bit you might have easily glossed over was the blatant criminality in offering "an ID" not necessarily the right one but you can buy a VIN for it for £1500

Going to report it and hope others do the same, this is what is happening to our stolen Land Rovers.

Doesn't look clever does it.
The ad is saying you can have the LR without any ID for 1500 but if you want ID 3000.
That can't be legal.
No chassis plate! but it will potentially have the chassis number stamped in the rh front chassis leg.
If so, could be legalised for 1500 based on that.

Buy the motor & register it :)

If he keeps the log book he won't have removed all the numbers only the vin plate. Easy to register with a chassis number & inspection.

Well iffy

Don't report it now. Contact him via ebay and go and see it or get his address. Then go to police and report it. If yer not close to it then someone oft ere who is will go int stead.

He may have chopped the leg off and replaced it, keeping the 'ID', to go with a new galvy chassis ....

I don't honestly think my nerves would take Defender ownership, then of course my back might not thank me :(

If I did it would be on air, big throbbing V8 and automatic :)

You like a big throbbing thing between the legs then?? :D

Defenderers are easier to repair than discos though!! :p

I'll give you the repairy bit and I loves a V8, last weekend I got a ride out in a cracking 90 with a 3.9 Rover V8 conversion with a ZF 4HP24 Range Rover auto box and transfer box, it was a joy to sit in :)
