Cables, brake lines, brake & clutch bleeding & wiring are a pain! I'm glad mine came with braided brake lines, but I'll still have to bleed all 7 lines at some point!It's OK putting the big bits on ! It's ALL the nigerly bits that take your time up
The Virago's bars are growing on me..

Well another box of bits turned up today so time to start again !
NEW Oil filter & oil ! in !
New Mirrors & clamps on !
New grips on !
Also been sorting wiring out & found out the indicators are NO good without some resisters in line SO have to get some different ones ! BUUUUUUGER & BIG BOX OF SWEAR WORDS ! LOL

WELL IT LIVES ! Well sort of ! Going to have to change the fuel Old / new fuel been stood in fuel cans while it's been stripped ! smells good but she wont stay running ! had the float bowls off & they look ok , plugs are dry so that tells me she aint getting fuel ! Had this problem when I first got it !

At least you can get at your carb to clean/inspect, I have the same problem with one of my scooters and I need to remove a stack of plastic panels that fit together like a 3D jigsaw.

No, I don't blame you. Carbs are my nemesis, whatever I do to fix/clean them, they are usually worse afterwards.Hope it's a fuel prob Col as I don't fancy taking the carbs off

My V-Max was like that when I got it running again - old fuel had created a load of black treacle in the tank, fuel pump, and carbs
. Cleaned the tank with caustic soda - fuel pump got the same, and the carbs, well ...... Best thing i ever got for cleaning carbs was an ultrasonic cleaner - with the right nasty chemical in, it gets rid of all known dirt/crud/sh*t etc. ..... and quite useful for cleaning all sorts of other junk, oops I mean essential parts.

I'm back ! well two things stopped it running correctly, 1st was a ME made fault didn't clean the frame/air box out enough sucked a LOAD off blastin grit into the carb slides so another GOOD clean then a tin of spray paint to stick/seal any more grit in place the 2nd was/is the battery the Bike would NOT run for more than 5mins even after the battery had been on charge all night & just manage to start the bike ! so today i took the battery off the caravan & it struck up straight away & kept running untill I switched it off , & struck up first hit of the button SO NEW battery ordered & a different set of indicators , as the 1s i got wont flash !

New indicators , new back brake switch as the old 1 tried to set it on fire yesterday
then the tank to get polished , just been on with getin the fish eye out front brake to blast then paint then get Good ridge brake pipe bleed up then just check every thing is tight , & we should be good to go !
