Replaced the ****part alternator which failed after a couple of thousand miles. :(

blimey that's s bit of bad luck , assume it's not under warranty anymore

annoying as hell when u think a part is going to last longer

Yeah, but I bought it in Bulgaria last year. Just too much aggro to try and claim. I trust the new Bearmach one will last a bit longer.

Day of tip runs and betting my swollocks off resulted in actually looking at the blower gubbins.

20 minutes work and a hamster wheel full of leaves removed and it no longer sounds like a tractor when you set the blower to max. Also blows, so that's good.

Next up. New AC compressor, once I can wrangle the funds

Went looking for a mystery coolant leak after loosing a bit from the expansion bottle some where I always go on about the importance of putting fluro dye in the coolant and engine to find leaks well

Radiator heater core weeping you can just see the green glow with the UV light.

Nuffin as I had to drop my motorbike off to be serviced ready for the crazy season. Only problem is that I'm now £350 less well off

cheers for the link

do indeed use leak detector spray ,but always found the fluid and brush better, seeing it's a thicker solution it holds longer on the fittings etc ,

alas was a heating engineer for over 25 x years so useto finding leaks when i worked on gas lines etc

found fairy liquid to be one of the best agents in being able to find the smallest of leaks

it was on the of chance if some uv solution could have been added to the system and using a uv torch

thks again though

Hi mate,

I seem to be having this issue and I'm sure it's down to the same issue as I can smell it when I get in the vehicle. What did you take off to gain access to view the heater core? I already did the dye test, but couldn't get into this area very easily to inspect it.
