Had a nice visit from Mike at Dynachip and now have a nice new map on my TD5 - at the same time we pulled off a PSI Powerbox that the previous owner had installed (that's now on eBay), reconnected the wastegate modulator and adjusted the wastegate back to 13 threads (instead of 8!!)

Now sitting with it's arse end up in the air on ramps waiting for my air powered descaler/rust remover to arrive so that I can derust the rear chassis to see if it needs welding or if I can get away with paint and waxoyl.
Mike did mine two weeks ago. Flies now'

got myself a synergy tuning box for my D3

will fit it in the next few weeks

seeing a map is around £400 plus i can't justify that kind of cash

had one of these boxes on my TD4 and transformed it

will report back of my findings , along with brimming the tank for accurate mpg

Attempted to do the oil pump bolt today, gave up after two hours trying to get the crossmember bolts out, Grrrrr!!!!
Now will have to drill and tap the bolts out, still, first chance to have a good look underneath and am very chuffed at how clean it is. Will probably give the underneath a good clean and waxoyled this year.
Still in love with my Disco :)

I think most of us have been there. An angle grinder / punch or other alternative removal device are generally a good idea. The PO had welded mine in one 5 out of the 8 bolts..................LOL........

Cheers

just noticed i think there's a clip missing

would anyone with a D3 be able to have a quick look for me please

looking at the white sensor, it looks as though the body is designed for a clip to hold this sensor in

been trying to search online to no avail

think the sensor is called an engine coolent temp sensor, ref 4346360

any help would be so much appreciated please

thks

It looks like a simple clip to me, there is one on my MAF. Short term an elastic band should suffice. You will prob find that it's not sold separately so may need to visit a breakers yard mate

bless u for the help ,

after a lot of searching , just had a look in how to remove the sensor

it twists into a key way , so no clip required

when i first saw it i thought someone had touched it and forgotten the clip , but pleased to find out no clip req

just never like leaving things , always like to double and triple check

appreciate the reply , good idea if it was req the elastic band trick

can now carry on cleaning the butterfly housing out

Mike at dynachip remaps them for £250.
Anyway you said yours goes like stink and have no need for it to go faster

Tidied up the rear end getting rid of the plough of a towbar and rear step before laning tomorrow, and wire brushed the flakey paint and soil from the chassis and shoved some buzzweld CIO paint on the most part, recommend it great stuff!

Looks a whole lot better than before, will see it through till a good underseal, main 2 bolts wouldn't budge so grinded off the whole thing will properly remove what's left soon

I put my PSI powerbox on eBay and it's currently at £26 - it's set up for a Discovery 2 so probably wouldn't work on a D3 otherwise it would have been a cheap option.
