Tyre Pressure info needed please.

Hello all.
Had a set of Michelin Latitude Cross tyres fitted at each corner today, they look the part any way. As it goes, i was in a rush to get away and didn't ask what Michelin recommend for tyre pressure on Freelanders.
The tyre shop stuck in 40lbs, which seems high to me.
Any advice welcome.

Haynes manual says 30 psi front and rear for up to 4 passengers and luggage, 30 psi front and 44 psi rear for full load & towing, that's for original tyres tho, says may vary if other make etc fitted.

Prolly get better miles with 40 anyway.

30Psi all round is the reconditioned pressure.
40 is way to hard which will reduce tyre life. Put 30 in and monitor the wear pattern on them. Adjust the pressure accordingly

i've latitude hp's ..
32 psi on front .. wears even
31 psi rears as it's an unladen commercial .. wears even

when new ..
i asked the tyre fitters for 31 psi all round ..
they stuck in 36 psi
steering felt way too lite ..

I have experimented with tyre pressures and I like the ride with 32 psi. Any more and the ride is too hard.

Hello all.
Not had roads dry enough to try the chalk test yet, but have dropped the pressure to 32lbs all round.
My hobby takes me off road every other weekend, so we'll see how we get on. At this time of year its mainly shale, mud and small rocks to deal with, let you know how they do .

I am not sure what you mean by higher rea axel on your V6 as all rear diffs are the same as LR only list one for all. and nice to see you on here again MHM

I'm not sure why you reference the diff? Presumably what Longdog was referring to was higher rated springs - although I wasn't aware of any.

I meant the maximum rear axle weight is higher by about 300kg and the gvw by nearly 500kg on 2006 td4 and V6, so LR recommend higher rear tyre pressures when fully loaded

Well , as it goes, I'm very chuffed with the performance of these tyres off road on mud and shale that i have encountered so for. I know the real test will come with the cold weather, but the difference felt on surfaces i know with the old tyre set up are very different. No slip, just grip. Even with the added flowing water added.
Money well spent for me, as getting up here can be a challenge .

Also. to add, i found that 32psi was optimum for both road and off road.

Interesting wheel style on there. I wonder what they are off? They don't look an OE style I'm familiar with.
