I promised a while ago to put up some pics of my darling Rangie as it would be nice to show you all what you have been helping me (and supporting me) with over my recent woes.

So my question is, how does a northern noob like me put a piccy on here for all to see? And when I say how I mean IDIOT'S GUIDE please!!!!

You can have a chuckle at my rear lights and know what they are whereas I didn't and I needed to track down a n/s/r cluster as mine is steamed up. Thought I'd found a cheap one on fleabay and went out to check and mine are the supercharged ones!!! Bet you lot would have known that. When I bought it it said supercharged grill but I didn't realise all the lights had been done as well

Oh well, ho hum and all that .....

Down the bottom where you post a reply, is a button that says 'Go Advanced'

This brings up some additional options.....one of these is 'Manage Attachements' Click this and a new window appears allowing you to select the file you wish to upload....follow the instructions and once you have selected the file(s) you wish, there is a button that says 'Upload'...do this and wait, it will then say 'Upload Complete' or something like that...you can then close this new window and post your reply!

Easiest way is to open it up in Paint (comes free on Windows Computers) - Try right clicking on the picture and then going down the list to 'Open With....' there should be an entry in the pop up that says 'Paint'.

Once open in Paint, use the 'Brush' tool and a colour of your choice and 'paint' over the number plate......save the image, if you want to keep the original, choose 'Save As....' from the file menu and give it a new name.

Close Paint and then upload this new image!

hi ant thanks mate but im crap on tinternet ???? what do you mean paint ??? ive got windows 7 so what and how ???? need more instructions as im slow !!!!!! NO wisecracks please wammers data or plastic scousers etc etc x

Paint is a program that comes loaded free on Windows Computers....even Windows 7.

Go to the Start Button (round windows icon on the bottom left of the screen)
Go to 'All Programs'
Scroll down to and select 'Accesories'
then scroll through this list until you find 'Paint' and select this....

This should open up the 'Paint' program.

Now, near the top left of the Paint program window is a Blue coloured rectangle with a icon that looks like a list of lines and an arrow next to it.....(image attached below so you can see what it looks like)....click on this and a menu opens.

Select Open from this menu and browse to where your photo is saved....

This will load the photo into the program, then use the Brush tools ffrom the toolbar at the top and use these to cover over your numberplate...

Then go back to the Blue rectangle and use Save As to re-save the photo.

Only problem with external picture links, is they are often gone when people search the forum later. Many useful threads no longer have pics.

Uploaded pics usually remain in forums for longer (as long as the host doesn't crash & lose them)
