Are you running carbs?? Why sonexpensive?? If you have efi then fair enough but for carbs only need low pressure. Think my fuel line was £20'all in.

Yeah I'm running EFI, need to but a new inline pump too

Thats why I needed the swirl pot be far easier if I had just dropped a 4 barrel holley on it but EFI is a bit better IMO

efi is only 34 psi why do you need swirl pot with inline pump

Yeah mines mainly rubber hose with some plastic wrap with some hydraulic hose between the pump and the rail (because it was the easiest way)

I want a swirl pot but that's just for angles and stuff

The swirl pots to stop fuel starvation, Marks finding that a problem on his now, the inline pump is because I need a 34psi pump and the standard ones only 7psi on the series so that will become my feed pump

On the old series tank with no baffles etc so if the fuel level gets low and I'm at an angle for any period of time i.e. stopped to take a pic or crawling it might cause a problem

Either way the pot was only £20 and I needed a new pump anyway

think your making it a tadge complicated , it wont run for long if your running it that low ,you can get rrc hp pump to fit series tank fits in same size hole as sender

Bit late now, its all sorted out!

Be fine with this set up anyway, and it means should I sell on I can remove the set up and just dump in the RRC pump I suppose. System will be transferable to new projects should I need it

Indeed, this unbaffled tank is a right pain once the tank is below half!
I can barely drive it when its only 1/8 full, when ever you accelerate it jumps like mad!

Only twice have I had the need for a fuel resovoir as Spyderman can confirm


I'd just buy a RRC fuel pump and small resovoir under the bonnet keep it simple and as many std lr items as poss IMO

Problem isn't now its halfway up a mountain on a Sunday and you have to pay 200 for a spare pump or wait a week for a £70 one from ebay

Ok I know its bad but………a gaylander pump is perfect for a high pressure set up……they run at 36.4 psi and have a rubber mounting case which makes them pretty damn good!

It took me ages! What smart arse at landrover came up with the pin design :doh: on the plus side it means I can go to the gym now

Seat box chopped up and bolted in, taken quite a bit out of the centre so there'll be a few strengthening panels being fitted in to give it back rigidity also refitted the handbrake properly and once the strengthening panels are back in I'll be deciding where to put the handbrake lever, thinking floor but it may go next to the seat by the cubby box

Tomorrow I'll be putting in the slave cylinder and bleeding it, riveting a few more repair panels into the rear tub and if all goes well I'll also be able to plumb in the rad! Weather says sunny so I'll be up and working from about 10 ish to try and get as much done as I can

Also got hold of some aluminium sheet to repair the wings where the bolt holes on the side for the slam panel have rotted away.

With any luck I may also be able to plumb in my swirl pot and radiator, just need to drill a couple more holes in the slam panel spacer only moving it forward 3" so its not going to lose too much of the series front end then to counter this I'm extending the slam panel top backwards and resorting to bonnet catches like on the military ones.


My rear axle is coming into stock next week so hopefully be able to travel down and pick it up and I've found out why my parabolics look so low! (only got 5" between bump stop and axle casing) It looks like the PO has packed the rear axle and raised it up 2" for some reason as theres some wedges under the axle. However I'll just renew the springs with a good pair of SH ones as they are pretty shot, front ones aren't packed yet they're even closer space wise. Definitely past their prime!

Also picked up a battery as well as a complete relay panel with flip switches for the ignition system and other things like spot lights and electric fan.
