That will be 15 years at least as I have never had a leaking issue from a sunroof.
That is good mine only made it 11years . But then both let go at the same time :doh:

Just a thought. But have any of you poured water round the outer tray with the sun roof open. Check to see if the water drains away through the drain holes. If the water holds, you have a blockage. Just put a couple of bursts of compressed air down the holes to clear away any clogging. Once that's done you should see the **** & water come out from just behind the front mud flaps.

The sunroofs are not the only areas that leak water
But they are the most likely
I spent three weeks stripping the interior out and water testing every area of the car and fixing or modifying problems to stop the leaks

all types of sunroofs leak on the D2,plus the safari windows,the back door seal is prone to leaking as are the roof rails.plus the manual sunroof winder can let water in also.

manual and electric sunroof is the same unit just the manual one had a winder mech screwed onto it.
Mine are different again and only push up.
The rear one doesn't leak and opens.
The front was sealed up but viv who I bought it off said that was already sealed when he got it and he had traced and fixed a leak elsewhere so it probably wouldn't leak.
After removing all the sealer it pìssed in
so thats re sealed

My Disco 2 is on a 53 plate and has the twin manual sunroofs. One of the first things I checked was the dreaded leaking sunroofs. Thankfully, I haven't had a leaky problems so far, so far!

the push up one,is an aftermarket one,you can normally adjust them to make a better seal,or you could on the several i had fitted to various cars.Mine are different again and only push up.
The rear one doesn't leak and opens.

Mine was the roof bars leaking in causing a puddle above the sun visor.

Fixed mine a couple of months ago. Both were leaking whenever it rained - I'd get water through the manual handle's lock switch, and other areas like down the passenger seatbelt (made for an annoyed wife!).
I did two things to fix it:
Ran a bead of exterior silicone sealant (Sikaflex) round where the plastic surround joins the metal body (scrub clean and dry first)
Partially pulled out the rubber seals with the sunroof fully opened and found loads of grit, leaves, bird cr4p etc clogging up the channel. Cleaned it as best as I could and reinserted seals. I couldn't clean all of it as I didn't remove the sunroof glass, but as I say, not had a drop since!
Don't listen to these online guides that tell you to step the whole roof down and repair the drain tubes etc - only do this if the easy above method fails. Those drain tubes are only there to remove water that enters whilst the roofs are open, so they're a secondary defense measure that isn't needed if your primary water defenses (plastic-to-body seal, and the rubber seal) are working.

My manual sunroof was leaking, reinvigorated the seal with Vaseline now it's fine
