Hot handbrake

Hi all had my discovery for year and half now and it’s been great had the three amigos fueling issues and leaking sunroofs to name a few.

But my latest issue is my handbrake lever now gets hot!! (It started burning the gaiter) I’ve seen online that it could be an earthing issue, I’ve checked the earthing points near battery and all seem clean and secure, could anyone give me any pointers as to what else it could be?

You should have some earths from chassis to body,chassis to engine battery to chassis/engine

The handbrake cable is acting as a bad earth & getting hot

Bit like heated seats and steering wheels, might start a new trend.

Disconnect the earth lead and clean it and battery terminal before putting back on.

Check the webbed ground cable going from the firewall to the rear of the engine.
