I've a D2 with twin sunroofs, it's a commercial so I've no need for the sunroofs. Both are leaking and the headliner is wrecked (to be sorted at a later stage)

Has anyone covered up the sunroofs with Ali plate or similar to ensure waterproof, or are there off the shelf solutions?

If there's nothing tried and tested I'll revert to the sunroof seal and drain clean procedures :(

I recently replaced both my seals, and the cracked drain points and cleaned out the pipes with compressed air, recovered the headliner, put it all back and it still leaks! I bought my seals from Craddock and in my opinion they are too hard to seal properly. They were also difficult to fit because they are so stiff. I didn't replace the seal on the outside where the sunroof lip sits. Perhaps that was my mistake. I'm waiting for warmer weather and then I'll need to redo the lot. My sunroof motors were also rusted because it had been leaking for so long. Good luck!

You need to take the whole sunroof out, clean the old sealer off the roof & sunroof (every last bit) then reseal with sikaflex & whilst you're there check & put extra sealer on those pathetic plastic bits where the drain pipes connect.

A job for a weekday evening when I get the garage clear!

I'm assuming this is the cause of both foot well carpets being soaked. Tempted to rip out and paint metal with bed liner paint and have use a pair of heavy series mats on top. It's been bought as a fishing/shooting truck so ease of use more important than sound proofing.
