off road tyres on steels

for sale i have some very aggresive offroad tyres.
i have used them on the road but there too agresive for me. they have a lot of splitting but hold up on and offroad for the last few months.
i would suggest using them for pay and play vehicles? very very good tread.

there rubbish offroad had them on my 90 265/75/16 sold them after one pay n play..

and I wouldn't put alloy wheel nuts on steel wheels,but its your life crack on if u think there safe

The tyres are ok offroad not amazing not out standing but better offroad than on simply because they are bronco and tend to............................................... ill leave that as its not my place to say.

Whel nuts Well Thats because your uneducated. The wheel nuts fitted on there fit Alloys AND steels hence they have a taper at the end its not your fault its just you don't know.

When the lesser poor mans Rangie came out aka the Disco they fitted steel wheels as a spare and the wheel nuts in the pic above double as alloy nuts and also fit steel wheels when you get a puncture. Early alloy nuts the 1 piece steel constructed type were indeed no good for steel wheels as they had no taper just a flat bottom. The ones in the pic are indeed the latter type. So to sum up those wheel nuts and indeed the OP have done nothing wrong and are perfectly fit for purpose. The cheap dig backfired due to lack of knowledge im afraid!

Alloy wheel nuts are designed to sit in an alloy and not tapered enough to pin a steel wheel. Not safe.

Those Disvoverys had different type wheel nuts for the spare so as to use the correct wheel but depending on which wheel was fitted at the time.
