yepmy 2.25d has the plastic plug, two thick browns to starter and another wire to the dash lamp.
I thought the ign sent power down the bulb to the alt which powers the fields it and earths via the alts body. Then once it starts to generate power the 12v counteracts the ign feeds 12v and no current flows.. bulb off.
The big browns one are connected to the starter/battery. So you just need the three (two if you just have one brown).
